Dentistry: The yogurt helps to prevent dental disease

Lactate acid content of yogurt is related to the decrease of periodontitis, help prevent dental disease. According to the Jouranl of Periodontology, a prestigious publication devoted to dental research, regular consumption of yogurt may prevent periodontitis, a dental disease that causes inflammation of the gums. Unlike what might be expected commonly, this beneficial effect is not related to calcium intake.

The decrease of periodontitis is due to the action of microorganisms (known as Lactobacillus) present in yogurt and other dairy products do not contain as milk. These microorganisms help reduce bacteria that causes periodontal care and oral flora. In this way, it reduces the risk that, when chewed, these bacteria come into contact with the immune system, leading to complications such as premature births, cardiovascular disease and diabetes
